John D'Angelico (Little Italy, Manhattan, 1905 – Manhattan, September 1, 1964) was a luthier from New York City, noted for his handmade archtop guitars and mandolins.He founded the D'Angelico Guitars company, where other notable luthiers like Jimmy D'Aquisto served as apprentices. The guitar has a bone saddle, and pearl inlays. Herk Favilla 6 String Acoustic Guitar, model /style C5 Overture, serial number 301225, in case, good condition. There are a few minor scratches and blemishes but the guitar is at 95 condition wise and contains 98 of the original parts. That said Favilla guitars are Ok made instruments constructed of good materials. The newer guitars had a maroon-ish finish that sometimes becomes brittle with age, and chips easily. The older instruments had a finish much like the Martin 17 series. On these guitars, the necks are usually chunky, with a narrow nut.
